Emergency Evacuation from Myrnohrad: Critical Situation in Myrnohrad

Residents of frontline areas, especially families with children and individuals with mobility issues, are urged not to delay their urgent evacuation from Myrnohrad. The authorities of Myrnohrad and Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast have issued emergency evacuation recommendations due to the escalation of conflict in the region. Acting Head of the Myrnohrad City Military Administration, Yuriy Tretiak, has emphasized the critical situation faced by the local population. According to Tretiak, the situation in Myrnohrad is dire, and only a few days remain before it becomes even more dangerous. “The situation is very tense, and there is a trend towards worsening,” Tretiak stated. “If Pokrovsk has two more weeks according to calculations, Myrnohrad does not. Myrnohrad has a few days left, possibly one, two, or three. Because we have been experiencing artillery shelling for the third day now.”

Impact on Daily Life and Safety Measures

In Myrnohrad, daily life is rapidly deteriorating. Shops and pharmacies in the city have started closing their doors due to the escalating conflict. Shelling has become more frequent, with attacks occurring even during the day when people are on the streets. Due to the increased risk, local authorities have imposed an extended curfew from 3:00 PM to 11:00 AM, further restricting residents’ movement and access to essential services.

Tretiak’s call for immediate evacuation underscores the seriousness of the threat. He emphasized that delaying evacuation, based on the assessment of the situation, only increases the risk of casualties. “This ‘whether or not it’s worth it’ consideration only leads to more casualties,” Tretiak warned. The urgency of the situation demands immediate action from those still in the area to relocate to safer regions of Ukraine.

Evacuation Efforts and Local Response

In Pokrovsk, local authorities have also stressed the need for evacuation due to the advance of Russian troops. The local government is coordinating efforts to help residents move to safer areas, providing support and resources to facilitate their departure.

Recent developments in Myrnohrad include temporary road repairs aimed at improving access and easing evacuation. Despite these efforts, the worsening security situation has overshadowed these measures, prompting residents to urgently heed evacuation warnings.

Residents are advised to follow official channels for evacuation instructions and to ensure the safety of themselves and their families. Both Myrnohrad and Pokrovsk are facing unprecedented challenges, and immediate evacuation is crucial to avoid further escalation and ensure the safety of the civilian population.
